PS3 and HD Audio

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if the PS3 has received the update that aloows it to decode Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio yet? I am getting my new receiver next week and am not sure if the PS3 can decode those formats or not.

Not as of yet, we are all waiting on this, and I think Sony is waiting on DTS for this.

Dolby TrueHD capability is out of the box. We're all waiting for another update to enable Profile 1.1 and maybe DTS HD/HDMA decoding. You must have a HDMI receiver that accepts multichannel audio input to take advantage of it.

If its a new receiver, can it decode the new formats?
If so you want the player to bitstream the formats to your new receiver, not decode them.

eh...he has the PS3...there is no bitstream output of lossless audio.

Linear PCM output is only way to hear dolby trueHD and Uncompressed PCM tracks.

...as others already said, we're just waiting on a firmware upgrade to decode DTS-HD MA.
