I see that someone else started a thread on this release after I had posted the link. Might be a good idea for a moderator to merge the two threads.

Not sure about that.

If it is the same as the majority of WBs other double-feature discs they all were (with the exception of "Dity Harry/Magnum Force") on one disc. The discs were not flippers though since both movies were on one side of one disc.

I prefer "Eagles" over "Kelly's Heroes", which was a good comedy until about 3/4 of the way through when it lost it (e.g. the "show down"). I would have bought both of them anyway, so the two pack is a good idea.

Sort of the same subject. Every Which Way But Loose and Any Which Way You Can (Clint's "Clyde the Orangutan" movies) would make a cool 2-fer!

I know all of Warners double-features were on one disc with the one exception, but could they fit both of these movies on one disc? These movies are over 300 minutes combined, could they fit 5 hours of HD content on one disc?

What a great double feature.

Here's hoping that the package is two discs.

Excellent! These are two of my favorite 'older' WWII movies. Preordering now.

"The Eagle Has Landed" is one of my other favorites. WTF is up with the $45.99 price tag?

Default Where Eagles Dare / Kelly's Heroes coming June 1st!

Guys this is some seriously epic news.. Anyway what I am wondering is, although Kelly's Heroes is a much more popular film...is it too much to expect that this transfer will be really meticulous and well done for WED, and not rushed, since it's sort of a double-feature deal? I'm curious if they will include the music intermission too, but in light of this epic news I am a little concerned that WED isn't its own release.

Believe me, if it's a good Blu-ray transfer, watching this movie will be awe-inspiring on the right TV.

I still have my laserdisc of Where Eagles Dare, and that does have the intermission intact. Too bad it is a non-anamorphic widescreen transfer, but back in the laserdisc days widescreen rear projection was quite rare and expensive. The laserdisc format was great in that everything from the film was put on the disc. There are some special features on my Aliens LD that never made it to the dvd box set.

Just want to mention the The Eagle Has Landed is a pretty good transfer on blu ray - I bought a copy about a year ago and have viewed it numerous times, always enjoy watching it ( Mrs. Gray? ) and if it can hold up on a 128" 2:35 screen it is a safe bet. I ordered Tora Tora Tora from Japan a while back ( another great transfer ) and it still has not shown up in North America. Eventually perhaps but it makes you wonder what some Studios are up to. Regarding Where Eagles Dare even the dvd version looks quite acceptable overall on my screen so I am hoping the blu ray is a big improvement.

Thumbs down Very Disappointing!

I have just purchased a Where Eagles Dare Blu ray in England . I am very very disappointed. In my opinion it is no better than my DVD copy.
This Blu ray only contains Where Eagles Dare so different from the 2 film US release?
It seems to me that the producers have used the same print as was released on DVD. No effort seems to have been made to clean it up or remaster.
I fail to understand why such a good film has been released in this way. What a waste of time and money!!

The image to me on the Disc from the US release seems to be on par with the way it should look with out digital manipulation that usually ruins films bu doing reduction of grain to destroy detail.

The film doesn't look like a PIXAR production to be sure but it does look filmlike to me. Yes their is grain more scenes than others, the film never seemed to look outstanding, but I understand a restoration would maybe be in order although as it stands at least they didn't tinker around with the image.

It is one of my favs... but it deserved it's own release with cooler cover art in the same line as the classic poster artwork. these photoshopped hack jobs from these studios are getting on my last nerve.

And who created the whole look of the WB double feature designs? They look so generic I wonder if some consumers dont think they are public domain filler.
