I would say you have a lot that won't erase on your hard drive. Saved stuff can start to fill up the drive quick. I'd try opening the hard drive slot up (with the unit unplugged of course) to make sure you have a 60gb seagate (standard).

As to the wireless part, all I'll say is I had my computer running as a wireless access point that my PSP actually could use. Unfortunately the PS3 used newer wireless standard my computer could not do. I'd make sure the wireless standard the ps3 requires (802.11 n or g or something) is actually supported by your wireless access point.

Are you SURE you got the 60GB? The only PS3 that DOESN'T have wireless 802.11G is the 20GB. The other models 40GB, 60GB and 80GB have wireless.

The 802.11G standard that the PS3 uses have been around for some time. But even IF the wifi router/access point you have only supported 802.11b, you still can use it as the PS3 is B and G compatible. It's not compatible with A.

Seventeen MBs available and 9 used? This must be the famous 26 MB PS3 I've heard so much about.

/smartass

Sorry about that. Umm, I would personally check the PS3 and see if you do have the 60 GB model, it makes no sense why it would say that. As far as wireless internet goes, it should have that too.

Does your console have a memory stick bay [to the left of the blu-ray tray]?

Should be a little bit of plastic that you can lift up [doesn't require much force, so if it doesn't move easily, don't try to force it].
