Default How to get the 7.1 sound audio without HDMI?

i just purchased a new Sharp Acquos Blu-ray player and want to cable it to my MC12 for the new audio formats, TrueHD, DTS-HD, DD+, etc.

The MC12 has no HDMI processing so I need to cable the MC12 through the digital coax, or the 5.1 analog inputs.

I am somewhat confused. How do I get the new audio formats to play through the Lexicon, and what is the best way to connect the Blu-ray player to the MC12 if I don't have HDMI?

If I use the 5.1 analog inputs on the MC12 do I process the Analog signals through the Logic 7 program on the MC12, and what about DTS.

If I go straight analog I will not get the advantages of my full speaker set up.

My setup has fronts, sides, rear speakers, as well as 3 subs?

How do I get the best performance from these new sound formats?

Thanks

Your options include:

1) Try to get your dealer to obtain the MC12B-HD upgrade program so that you'll get HDMI inputs and be able to accept and process multichannel PCM

2) Use the the 5.1 analog in on the MC12 and let Logic7 do the rest. You'll still be using all your channels including the advance bass management of the MC12. While you're not getting discrete rears in this case, Logic7 does a pretty accurate job at steering the rears with little to no difference to the 7.1 PCM track when I compared them.

Lexicon has a very good user forum and there's lots of resources and opinions there which will help you.
