It's most likely going to be a BD-R as have been the majority of their catalogue titles outside their Paramount Presents label.

It's more a region free release from Paramount that I'm hoping for. Though, I'd pick up the Shout release anyway at some point.

I'd be very interested to know what triggers something to be a Paramount Presents or a "Let's just toss it out with little fanfare" release.

Popularity of title and quality of the current master, maybe?

While Private Parts and The Two Jakes are moderately known and popular titles, the studio knows they won't sell like Pretty in Pink, Fatal Attraction and Hitchcock films.

Atlantic City is the one title I would have thought could have gotten a Paramount Presents release, but alas, it did not.

I'm assuming The Parallax View, Some Kind of Wonderful and Ordinary People will be getting Paramount Presents releases, when/if they arrive.

Hud on the other hand could go either way... I'd say its popularity is close to Atlantic City.

Took forever for the movie to get made. Guess it's only fitting the Blu-ray took forever.

I'm very happy about this!

Jack Nicholson and Harvey Keitel, the two Jakes, are two of my favorite actors ever.

I saw this in a theater when it was new. It suffered from the same thing "The Godfather- Part III" initially suffered from that same year.

Both were long awaited sequels to some of the 1970s' absolute greatest films from Paramount. The originals are masterpieces. These sequels were only good, so they got kicked around and completely dismissed as dreadful, ill-advised garbage, which is not actually the case. This is actually a good, well made and well acted film for grown-ups. It's just not AS great as "Chinatown". Just as "Godfather III"'s rep has grown over the years, I hope this finds more of an audience, too.

By the way, I have the recent "Atlantic City" and "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever" MOD blu's, and they look and sound very good.

We'd all like the best releases possible, but in this age, we need to be grateful to at least have the films out on physical blus at all, in still very good quality.
