Default I think movie theaters will go the way of the arcade.......

Does anyone think that the movie theaters will die out slowly now that home theaters have surpassed in performance?

To me, this seems parallel to the video game industry. When video games first came out, arcades opened up all over place, allowing people to experience something they couldn't otherwise do at home.
But, as time went by, technology advanced, and eventually the home consoles have caught up and surpassed the arcades. Nowadays there aren't as many arcades around, and the ones that do
exist have the same games you could play at home.

The same thing appears to be happening with movie theaters. With the emergence of new mediums such as HD and Blu-ray, watching movies has become a better experience. The technology is better, not to
mention the fact that you avoid the overpriced tickets, overpriced food, and obnoxious people who talk with their cell phones.

Just my 2 cents.
