Default Query on HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection).
Hi,
I have just bought a Samsung BD-P1400 Blu Ray player.
I have it connected up to a Samsung 40" LCD that only supports up to 1080i. i.e. it's a couple of years old.
So far I have purchased two disks, one is Be Kind Rewind which plays fine.
The other is Monty Python's Life of Brian. Now, this disk just plays the audio and shows a load of blocky rubbish on screen.
My user manual informs me:

"If random noise appears on the screen, TV does not support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)."

Is this likely to be the case? If so is there any way around it that does not involve buying a new TV?

Is there any way to know which disks have this protection on? I.e. is it a studio related thing?
