Exclamation I have two HDTVs, one 26" and one 52", what about HDCP protection?

Have they turned on the flags for the HDCP protection on the PS3 or the BD movies?

I have a 26" HDTV from Samsung CRT I bought in Nov. 2005, and we also have a 52" front projection HDTV. Both have HDMI inputs, which I would prefer if they work fine.

So I'm just curious, will I have to worry about HDCP compliance, or is this just with computers?

Thanks. Is there "firmware" I would have to upgrade on the TVs, or is this all on the PS3 side? I have had problems with HDMI in the past when hooking up my PC to the HDTVs, so I normally use component when going from the PCs.

Thanks for the response, BTW

I don't know how things are in the US, but in Europe (2005 and early 2006)they were selling tons of TVs WITH HDMI that did not decode HDCP. I work at a PayTV Channel, and our phone supporters told countless stories of customers who couldn't watch our program because their TV was advertised as HD-Ready but it wasn't. I'm not saying it shouldn't work, that's just what I observed.

Ummm, "HD-ready" means that it doesn't have a tuner, not that it's not HDCP compliant.

Sorry, but that is incorrect. HD-Ready means the TV has a resolution of at least 720 lines plus an HDMI connection that decodes HDCP.

Agree with the above; HD Ready is a standard (in Europe anyway) that means the set MUST comply with an agreed set of features. HMDI, HDCP, 1080i and 720p support are the main ones.

I've had my set for a year, but it's HD Ready so I know it will work perfectly with my soon to be bought PS3.

What I'm saying is that "HD-ready" usually means it doesn't have an internal HD-tuner.
