I trust Google as much as any company out there, but does anyone worry about the safety of their Gmail account? I've converted virtually all of my email to Gmail and wonder what would happen if they suddenly lost some of my stored email permanently.

I have Gmail and yahoo...I have the Yahoo one for a mirror email site....might want to consider something like that...I was worried, too.

I highly doubt that would ever happen. I'd think the servers holding that information are so tightly encripted and secured that a fart in the wind couldn't get into the coding, and are probably backed up 100fold to make sure nothing ever happens to user accounts. With that said, every program has SOME problem. This is the first time ive ever not been able to access Gmail. But like the fella above me said, get Thunderbird if you are concerned.

I'd trust Google over MSN Hotmail, Yahoo, or AOL any day. Google is a great company in my books. Properly managed, up to date with technology, simple yet effective programs, they treat their employees like gold (if im not mistaken, Gmail was developed by an employee using his 20% free time) ,and they listen to the people.
