Default Question about my PS3 Problem...

Not to long ago my PS3 is having sound problems, but only when i go into games... and it doesnt happen all the time.

So i will start up a game and will play it for an hour or so, then when i press the PS button and go to Quit Game, and go back to my XMB, the next game i play will start up, but will have no sounds what so ever until i turn off my console.

Is anyone else having problems or no what is going on? I have updated to 2.42 as well if that makes a difference. 3 of my friends with ps3's have never had this problem... would reformatting the ps3 work?

Sounds like a receiver problem. Mine does something similar. What i do when i have no sound is just switch video inputs on the receiver with a push of a button or turn it off then back on.

I'd email Sony just to make sure, though.

Well, if you have a receiver try sending the sound directly to the tv and see if the problem is recreated. If its not, then its your receiver.

if you don't have a receiver, then I would try maybe switching out the cable? Or try the PS3 at a different tv. Once you've realized the problem is the PS3, then you can call Sony.
