Default Anyone think PSN HD movies are very slow to download?

Started Harold and Kumar at 7pm. It is now 10pm. Its only 53% completed.

Not on dial up. Cable.

i don't see downloads becoming standard untill like 15 yrs from now, people will need TBs and TBs of storage, and its just not cost effective yet, plus i like my cases, and if people don't like putting in a disk, then just save ur money and get that 400 disk blu-ray player from sony thats coming out

i actually tried it out and downloaded family guy episodes. i did also notice a fair amount of tearing at certain moments, and this is a first.

didnt bother me at times, but i do know i cant move the files over to my external hd. i cant copy em either.

no subtitles,
no way to back it up,
not at LEAST a 5.1 soundtrack (yes i know its only family guy, but in general)

last time they got my money.

I plan ONLY to rent a few things from here. It annoys me that they have an exclusive anime in HD that you CAN NOT buy on Blu-ray, or even on PSN. You HAVE to rent it! That is really annoying cause it looks cool but I rather own things I like. I will rent it only cause there is no other option, but I will not own any movies on there, and will only rent occasionally IF my local Blockbuster doesn't have it in.
Face it, downloads are the wave of the future.. the far far future. But Blu-ray will have more than enough time to flourish before then. It is better, faster, easier, and physical. Its just better.

I think they are very slow to download because of large file size. It took me several hours to download my rental of The Cooler, which ended up not even looking all that good! Because it took so long my wife and I had to wait until the next day to finish it. That will be the first and last hd digital rental for a very long time.

Even though Sony could add more servers to up the bandwidth (often times my PS3 is slower than my PC when downloading stuff), the real culprit is the US slow download speed:

Take the test and compare it to other countries. Ridiculous.

Mine have only takes around an hour (Princess Bride & Harold & Kumar 2), so I guess it depends on location?

i have a middle-of-the-road cable connection which can sustain 11Mbps and burst at 20Mbps, but PSN downloads sure don't utilize it. i blame Sony's servers.

You have great speed compared to other people in your state, now compare it to Japan's or S. Korea's speed.....

No, we just have crappy speed. 20 Mbps is considered awesome here.

I tried it once when it first launched. I downloaded an HD version of one of the Matrix movies (rental) and it took *several* hours to download it. I haven't tried it since.

I haven't tried PS3 movie downloads yet, and based on the feedback I've seen here, i won't be trying it anytime soon.

I'd rather spend $5 on Rock Band downloads and keep getting movies on Blu-ray discs.
