BDP S-500 Version 4.0 - Blu-ray Forum

Below is the link for the latest firmware version. It isn't on the website yet, the website lists ver. 3.75

This is for windows XP. I got it from the sony chat support when I have more time I'll see if there is another update for the S-300 that isn't on the website.

Unfortunately it doesn't say anything about bitstreaming DTS-HD Master Audio. I asked the question but never got a reply.

I sent an email to there tech support and actually got an answer. It was basically "Sorry no updates are currently planned for DTS-HDMA support, please check back every few months".

I bought a different player the next day.

I figure I'll either get the S-550 or the 5000ES. This update should at least take care of the Ironman issue.

This firmware update has been available since August 30th. I did not notice any difference in play back (probably because I do not own the problem movies that this firmware upgrade fixes).

When you go to the sony site it only shows ver 3.75 for the 500 and 4.2 for the 300.
