hey all, i made a buy for a blu ray movie last week and received it with dirt, dust, finger prints and 2 small scratches on it. i notified the seller right away of this matter and told them i would clean it and see if it worked ok.
well i got around to try watching it with the wife today and from the very start it was skipping, blocking up and the sound was cutting out. i emailed the seller and they told me quoted from my pm account below in bold letters: Here's what I'm going to do, let you decide; Please return the disc, and it if plays perfectly on my same player as before I sent it to you w/o issue I'll refund every penny to you, and shipping both ways. If it does not, the damage was done at your end, and no refund will be issued in any way. I hate to be this way, but this disc played perfectly three times on three different players w/o issue since it was new. I don't do buyers remorse, as I'm not a retail outlet now what am i suppose to do here? why would i put a scratch on a disc i bought for my wife to keep? i am very tempted to leave negative feedback for this. i have had may great trades and buys so far with no incident, now this ![]() so now i am wondering if i mail it back i guess i lose my money and the movie? i cant believe how bad the scratch is also, it is down into the disc bad, so for sure it will skip. anyone have any suugestions and how ppl can get away with this kind of behavior. any thought on what to do? thanks Last edited by MATTYBLU2; 09-28-2008 at 10:09 PM. |

looks like someone did not take good care of this one with all the finger prints, dirt and dust. but the scratches really affected this disc. cant even play it without it skipping and cutting out. it really pissed me off that this guy is so unwilling to work this out? |

no it was right here on the trade forum. i am trying to keep this as discrete as possible with out mentioning their screen name. good thing is that they already left me positive feedback, so i am all set without revenge neg.

basically heres the deal, on ebay,sellers put this crap like"Buy insurance or its yours" or "not responsible for broken items"..WRONG!! Part of the buyer protection with paypal is they cover items not received and items received broken. Now if you contact Paypal with sending the item back they will favor the seller.
Just make an attempt to get a refund amicably, If not mail the item back using a delivery confirmation number. Then file a dispute stating you received the item not as described but the seller and the seller is refusing to take responsiblity. Provide that tracking # where you mailing it back and thats it. The seller either can provide a full refund or escalate it to a claim,thats their call. If you want, you can escalate as well. Even if its escaleted theres an email where you still provide facts. That email is dispute-assistance@paypal.com or call them when its been delivered and they will promptly refund you |

I think he meant that all you would have to do is look at your list and look at the last 1 or 2 people who left feedback then look at their feedback to see if you left them feedback yet to figure out the culprit.

well this was my response from him just now:
IC. Now I know why so many have issue with you on this forum, and why I should have listened. Enjoy your movie then. cant believe this, never had a problem with any traders or sellers on this site so far. all positive feedback and this is what i get. so i guess he gets a neg now and i file with paypal, this is ridiculous man. i dont have issues with people here? i mean a few tiffs, but nothing major. ![]() ![]() |
