Default Hsu Research VTF-2 Vs. ???

I am looking at picking up a Hsu VTF-2 for 380$ and was wondering if there was anything in that price range which would be better/comperable? I know that Hsu is a great brand, which is why I am leaning towards them, just wanted to know for that price range if there was anything that could be considered better.

you are opening up a can of worms.

for that price just buy it. stop reading this forum now, and go purchase the sub.

everyone is going to come in here and pitch whatever sub they like.

The VTF-2 is a great sub. I upgraded to a VTF-3 and probably didnt't need to. When I had my VTF-2, 2 of my friend ran out and bought it (for $500).

These threads do nothing but confuse people.

I would think you'd be really happy with a Hsu sub. You can also check out SVS and eD- I would put them on the short list at that price range. eD looks like it may be making some more changes to their subs so if you decide to go that route you may want to ask them if there's a new model coming out.

For that price and that sub you will be WELL IMPRESSED by the sub you get.
Hsu make great subs, pull the plug on that bad boy whenever you're ready.

<squeel> Yippy skippy, the evil! It will be here today! I was wondering how it would get from IL to here within 18 hours, but it did it! So now I'll be checking every hour on the hour to see if it was delivered and then go sit at the house waiting and watching. With my luck it will be delivered at 7 pm tonight! <grrrr>

Yeah, still waiting on it, I got about 30 minutes of sleep after working all night. I don't think I'm getting any sleep tonight! Thankfully I can go in a little bit late tonight!

Got it in, and plugged it up, so here's my next question:

As you can see I have a Y splitter from my RCA cables to go into both the low level hookups. I noticed on the left it's got high level hookups that go out to my speakers. I was wondering should I be using those as well/instead of low gain/not using them at all?
