Ok, I have a Westinghouse. I believe its a 32" 1080i. I just bought a sony 350 Blu Ray player. The picture was excellent. I turned the tv off and back on again like a half hour later and the best way to describe it is that the screen seems to be doubling itself.

There are lines going up and down the screen, not just when I use the BD player, but when I use a dvd player, cable or even just in the menu screen. Anyone have any ideas how to fix it, is this because of the BD player?

Any chance you can post a picture of what the screen looks like? You could try unplugging the cables between the TV and the blu ray player, but my instinct tells me that it might be a coincidence and that there is a problem with your TV. If you have vertical lines appearing on the TV that is usually a sign of a video board problem inside the TV, but again, without more details or a picture, I can't really guess too accurately.

I think I got this to work. This is what it looks like. This is my menu screen.

Well... I have seen that on monitors when they get the wrong resolution, but I am thinking that there is something wrong with your TV's video board. I would get on the phone with tech support to confirm. Worst case scenario, add a new TV to your Christmas list, there are some great deals out there right now

no such thing as a 1080i lcd display it's 720p or 1080p
being a 32" i bet 720p make sure your player is set to output @ 720p

Since your TV is under a service plan/warranty they will most likely give you two options one they will ask you If you want them to fix it, and If they cannot fix it then they would replace it for free. Now here is a problem even though you have a service plan with them make sure that you will not have to send this to westinghouse first for repairs because since this is still under the original warranty you may have to call westinghouse on this issue and not the store where you brought it. IF your TV was out of the original warranty then the store would take over and handle the problem.

Yes. I bought this through Best Buy. I called there customer service number and they gave me a repair service who is going to come to my home. The problem is that when I spoke to the repair service they had a attitude, asked me for the cereal number and said he will call me back because he doesn't even know if he can fix my problem.

So now I am waiting to see if this guy will even come. The other repair service they use here doesn't have a open appointment until Jan of next year!!! and TODAY IS DECEMBER 1st!!!!

I'll let you know what happens when this guy calls me back.

PS: And this tv is 1080i.

It may take in a 1080i source. but no such thing as a native interlaced lcd. The LCD has a native resolution and it is usually either 720p or 1080p.

Ok.

I brought the tv to the repair shop used by BB. He told me he doesn't think he can fix it, but he has to try, email BB and see if they have parts if he doesn't have them. If he can't fix it, then he said BB will start "whatever there terms are"

So I guess you are saying, even tho most HDTV support 1080i they are going to do the same thing his TV is doing.

If that is the case how come most people are not complaining about this problem?
