Default Funniest FUD ever!

Mike HD The Pirate of the Format Wars responds on 2007-05-27 16:40:17.0: Well, anyone who writes that he "bought (BD) the format that is winning in every single part of the world" really is uneducated - and NOT just uninformed - because of an inability to assess the format war in an intelligent manner. Deficiencies in other endowments apparently don't help that situation, either.

The format war is comprised of more than just sales of DVDs. However, I'll show - soon - just how HD DVD is actually ahead in disk sales - should provide some entertainment for everyone.

this guy is an ubeliveable idiot.

Unbundled, HD DVD outstrips Blu-ray by huge margin - Show thread - By Mike HD The Pirate of the Format Wars on May 27, 2007 - 5 responses - Last response on May 27, 2007

http://www.eproductwars.com/dvd/index.cfm - I'd kindof noticed that the Pirates came unbundled, and getting an unfair advantage there with total rankings in the format war. But, would you expect any less. The respective rankings are 14 and 16 - 2 points apart. Anyways, I thought I could the same for HDDVD. Here goes:

Planet Earth comes on 4 disks, with a collective ranking of 8. Unbundled we get 8, 10, 12, and 14. The ultimate Matrix collection ranks 41, unbundled that means 41, 43, 45. The "complete Trilogy" ranks 54, so we get 54, 56, 58. And, we already got our 1st ten titles right there. Add up, divide by 10, and we get 34.1 - which is an order of magnitude better than what Tony has for 'Salesrank of top 10 products' for HD DVD.

Moving right along, we next find Heroes, with sales rank 132. (Actually 125 on amazon, so moving up in the ranks) Well, when we unbundle the Heroes by Tony we get 7 discs. Soooo, that's 132, 134, 136, 138, 140, 142, 144. And, has brought us up to 17 discs, so far, so 8 more to go.

'Letters' is 134, DVE 377, Fountain 424, Virgin 511, Batman 613, COM 667, Frighteners 797, and Flags 831. Total there is 5661. Divided by 25 gives us 226.44. That's A LOT better than what Tony has (when bundled up) at 1001.08. And a lot better than Blu-ray, too. Like, still beats Blu-ray by a wide margin. Just how much? You do the Math.

Anyways, the fully unbundled Blu Top 10 come in at 14, 16, 20, 22, 24, 26 [Planet Earth], 37, 108, 194, 246. Total of 707, divided by 10 is 70.7. Meaning, HD DVD beats Blu-ray by a factor of 2 in THAT category. Whatever that means.

Sorry this is the most ridiculous FUD ever. ROFL. what will the fanbois do to try to get HD DVD on top.

That's what happens when you take Amazon sales rank charts too seriously.

Really now.

Some people just can't deny the truth

This exactly reminds me of plazman, nataraj and other members of the MS-HD-DVD FUD brigade.

This is indeed what I call fun FUD for my personal entertainment

this guy is an ubeliveable idiot.

Very strong likelihood that MichealHDDVD really is a Microsoft employee named Michael Armijo.

Here's some compelling evidence along with the fact that Penton Man outed him last night on AVS and all of that conveniently disappeared into the ethos overnight, which is always a dead giveaway since MS folks get protection over there.

See what you think:

Home Theater Talk Forum: THIS THREAD at HTT is just one example of Michael parrotting A-Man's talking points, like a clone.

Since Mike Knapp decided to close HTT the mods opened Home Theater Lounge. Of course there was a Blu-ray/HD-DVD section and Michael decided to join there as "Michael".

So what makes a lot of people think this is MichaelHDDVD?

Take a look:

THIS THREAD on managed copy/fair use is eerily similar to MichaelHDDVD's rants at AVS on managed copy. It's the same @#$%.

What are the odds?

I think it has to be the same guy, as Michael Armijo is just another A-Man minion.

Well, I just hope he was paid well to make that much of an ass out of himself, otherwise that's just really sad. Actually, scratch that - I feel bad if that is his his job. Who wants to make a living being a tool (in both senses)? It gives me the shivers.

So, by reversing the logic if the two POTC were combined, they would stick at 21 (currently 21 & 22) rather than jump up the rankings due to the sales being combined.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I'm not sure what would happen in this case. It's possible the combined sales would be higher, assuming there are a signficant number of people buying just one of the discs.

The Matrix, decombined, might be a net positive. I certainly would expect the original to sell a lot more. But, the other two less.

But, a serial TV series makes no sense being decombined. Nobody is looking for weeks 2 & 3 (for example) and nothing else.

Gary
