I dont know if you are sick of all the different HD plugs out there. I am. I liked DVI yes it didnt have sound but it locked in place. then they bring out HDMI. DVI + sound. now mini HDMI. I dont know about this one is it going to stay in place with such a small plug and heavy wire pulling on it. will new components and HDTV's start coming with mini HDMI's. can you see somone with a DVI cable a DVI to HDMI adapter. and then a HDMI to mini HDMI adapter. the thing would be like 3-4" long. my new HDTV in the bedroom has a DVI plug and I'm using it on my DVD player that has DVI.
just wanted to see what you think. |

HDMI 1.3 supports a max of 8.1 Gbits/sec for video. Uncompressed 3840x2160 @ 24 frames/sec @ 24 bits per pixel would require 4.8 Gbits/sec. However, 60p would require 11.9 Gbits/sec.
So it "sort of" supports 2160p. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI |

Something that can handle perhaps up to 8K resolution with a very high bit rate, carries 7.1 PCM 192/24 audio, doesn't have audio sync problems. And off topic, I want the next physical media to be child proof, and rental proof. Something that you have to hit with an axe to make it not playable.
