I was wondering if anyone knew about a fix for the Serenity problem many of us experienced with our copies (freezing at a certain point) Has there been a new printing?

Are you sure it's the movie that's causing it to freeze and not your payer? Perhaps you need a firmware update for it to play right?


I was unaware of a problem with Serenity.

My copy plays fine on both my PS3 & Oppo BDP-83

What type of player are you using, you might need a firmware update that usually solve most freezing problem.

The freezing at the 1hr 12 min mark has been discussed in the Serenity master thread, and the concensus that seemed to be reached was to return the disc if it freezes. I haven't heard of a repressing of the movie though, if that's what you're asking.

Anytime i have ever had a movie that would freeze like bourne trilogy i took it backt o the store and swapped it out and everything worked great

I exchanged it 3 times before getting my money back. I don't believe it was a player issue because I know of several others who experienced the same freezing at the same point in the movie on a variety of different players (I have PS3). I was hoping that a new pressing would have solved the problem and was looking forward to adding it to my collection.
P.S. I have over 180 blu-rays and this is the only one I have had problems with.

Sorry to hear that, i am in canada so i have the canadian copy and its fine, also have PS3

There hasn't been a new printing to my knowledge. Back when this discussion was going on in the big thread mentioned by Zman, the only things people did were return them and eventually get a working one or not download the BD-Live update that pops up and then go from there.
