Default Opinions Please..Samsung LNT4065F vs Bravia KDL40V2500

Finally gonna bust out on a LCD. After much research I am leaning toward the Samsung LNT4065F / LNT4665F. However, I am still considering Sony Bravia KDL40V2500 or the 46" Bravia.

Anyone have any experience with these models and what do you recommend? Thanks for any help!!!!

I don't have that particular model of Samsung, but after doing some research it looks yours is almost identical to mine, yours is just a newer version. I love my Samsung, I've had no problems with it in the short 6 months or so I have owned it. It is the first LCD I have bought and I couldn't be happier. From watching Blu-rays, to watching sports, to playing PS3, no complaints.

Again, your prospective model is different so take my experience with a grain of salt. Just because model X is great, that doesn't mean model Y will be. But I have complete faith in Samsung TV's so personally, I would feel comfortable with that TV. However, you can rarely go wrong with a Sony.

well that's my 2 cents, hope it helps

Great, thanks for the input. The more I read, the more I lean towards Samsung. Same quality as Bravia and more cost effective as well.

Thanks!!

You should definitely go with the Samsung one. By now (middle of 2007), Samsung has come such a long way in becoming one of the leaders in electronic innovation that any difference that might have existed between Sony and Samsung in the past are now non-existent. What you get is great quality for a much lower price. And did I mention "elegant design"?

By the way, I work with DLP/LCD/PLASMA tv's all day long in my field, so I know what I'm talking about.

Sweet, thanks for the opinions!!!

It does certainly look as if I will go with Samsung. It hurts though, I have been exclusively Sony for about 15 years. So much for blind loyalty.

I think I will check out that epson projector as well. Thanks for the heads up.

Again, thanks!!!!!

Hmm, have you seen this deal https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=9967

Seems like a great deal on a Sony. Have any need for an extra BD player, a Sony no less?

Default Definitely Samsun

I purchased the Samsung LNT-5265F a week ago and couldn't be happier. Blu Ray via PS3 is simply incredible. I would definitely go for the Samsung 65 Series.

Samsung has been putting out great quality LCD's that are cheaper and better PQ.

Samsung with 15K:1 Contrast Ratio looks so much better than the bravia and at that price. MMMmmmm

Go Blu Ray, Good Luck!

Yep, the Samsung is definately in the lead! I'll probably purchase online, but tomorrow I'm going to check them out first hand at CC and BB.

What a life, take a day off of work to look at televisions. What a country!!

I preordered the S300 Bluray player from Amazon. I can't wait. Hopefully, have the tv by then. I currently own a 34" Sony W/S crt 1080i and I am sure bluray will look great on that, but I gots to get a lcd flat panel. That crt weighs 205lbs, I can't wait to move it, yeah!

BTW, thanks for all the replies. Posted the same on AVS forums, not a single reply. Thanks again!!

That's funny. I had the Sony 36XS955 CRT HDTV before I purchased the 5265F. It was around 240 lbs, I recently sold it on Craig's List and will not have to move it again.
