Yeah, I went to the Best Buy site a little while ago and I was completely blown away by the price increases. They did the same thing with the Panny's too. Worst Buy obviously doesn't want to sell many TV's because the prices are through the roof. I get the feeling that they're trying to push more of the LED sets out the door, because the sale prices seem to have held steady on those. Just the other night they had the 50" 111FD Elite for $2500 if I remember right, and now its $4500! They have the 60" 141FD for $7000!!! WTF!!

more than likely supply and demand. the pioneers are now longer going to be made, the low prices and the fact they will not be around much longer meant people were snapping them up all over the place...best buy know they will still sell at the inflated prices and have raised them because of this. That's just how business works

The in store price may be lower in BB. I was recently in there and the online price was $4500 while the in store price was $3000 for the Elite 111.

The elites will be available until the end of the year. Pioneer has PLENTY of WIP (work in process) to support the volume on these. Scarcity in supply should hit sometime around October or so. Look online if you want to see the real market prices of these televisions. Sometimes BB has good deals going. Most of the time, you pay a premium for buying in a brick/mortar store. For many people, the extra money is worth it as they need the handholding that a store can give them. Plus...if no one bought from physical stores, where would be be able to go and see these units live and in living color? ![]() |

It just depends on the manager of the store and how you come across in the store. |
