Default Switching Input Selection

I have been getting this weird noise from my TV speakers when i change the input setting on my TV. If I have my cable on and decide to play a game or watch a movie on my PS3, ill turn my receiver on and change the input source on the TV to "HDMI". After about 5 seconds my TV emits this static like noise that is somewhat similar to "its snowing" screen (my best description lol). This noise can usually be put to rest if I switch from HDMI to another source and back, but it just gets real annoying. Has anyone experienced this before? It only happens with HDMI and not component. Thanks.

By the way I have Energy Take Classics and a Pioneer VSX819H-K that are hooked up with bare speaker wire (no banana plugs).
