Default Confused on AMAZON.COM shipping....

Okay so first it says it will ship to me the 17th and it said it was shipping soon

then AMAZON.COM sent me an email saying it just got shipped out and will be here the 18th uhhhhhh what they just told me the 17th?

Then I go to track it and it said at 8:14:39 AM yesterday the "SHIPMENT HAS LEFT SELLER FACILITY AND IS IN TRANSIT" it also said it was in "WHITESTOWN IN US" which is 3 hours away from where I live..... shouldn't I be receiving it today?

I'm so confused this is my first time buying online!

Korray

EDIT:

When it is shipped from USPS will it come to the house or go to the mail box?

Hey Kor-ray,

Amazon always lists shipping estimates but they are (mostly) never 100% accurate. They are there to give you a general idea of when an item may ship. Sometimes it ships later, but usually earlier (at least for super saver shipping)

I've purchased movies and selected free super saver shipping...the estimate is a week or so past the day of purchase, but they generally ship out within 2-3 days. Also, the carrier systems can be tricky. Sometimes it will be within a few hours of you but for whatever reason won't arrive until the next day. Or, sometimes it will arrive that day, regardless of what Amazon lists as the estimated delivery. If you order more from them you'll start to sense a pattern and get a better idea of when your movies will arrive.

Hope this helps, my friend

Relax....it will be ok...I use to have to have certain movies at ridiculous high prices no matter what. I learned to wait....usually can have it a lot lower within a month's time. I don't pay over $20 a movie now.

The 17th is when they said they would "SHIP" it (which it probably did). They then estimated the arrival time to be the 18th.

My orders all ship UPS, which delivers to my front door. I have never had Amazon ship USPS, but if it fits in your mailbox, they would put it there, otherwise they'll bring it to the door.

Hope this helps.

for USPS they put it in the mailbox (if it fits)...if it's larger than that they'll probably ship it UPS.

Look at the email that Amazon sent you and see if they included a link for you to track the shipment. You will have to login to the Amazon account and then it will pull up the details about the carrier and probably give you the information about where the package is within that system. It is unlikely they used the postal service, most of my Amazon orders come via Fed-Ex but UPS would be a likely alternative.

Be patient, good things come to those that wait.

Fed Ex usually will say if it was loaded on the truck, meaning the local delivery truck. Arrival at 8A probably means it will go out tomorrow but maybe their schedule for truck loading where you live is later than my own area. Whatever it is you're expecting, it must be something you really, really want. Patience is a virtue little grasshopper.

If it is an expensive product, and it is going UPS...you can leave a note asking UPS to not leave it on your doorstep and hold it for pickup at the UPS Depot. We do this a lot to prevent some kids from taking stuff before we get home.

Alot of people confuse delivery confirmation with tracking(like UPS) its not, Its just what it says it is and is very unpredictable. I wouldn't expect delivery today but within a day or 2. Depending on the PO, Arrival at Unit(just means its at local PO or processing facility for that Zip code) could mean 1-2 days before its actually delivered
