Default Favorite movie composer

Do you have a favorite composer. One composer you´re always looking forward to what he (or she) has done for the soundtrack of the forthcoming movie.

I myself can´t really decide if I have one favorite.
When I was younger (8-15 years old) I always heard if John Williams had done the score and really liked his way of making most scores into an exploration of an fantastic adventure. Recently I´ve been caught up with what Hanz Zimmer has done. I like the way he usually draws you into the story and make you feel like the story develops.
Look at Batman Begins. It starts out like "the search for Batman" and by the time the movie ends "Bruce Wayne is Batman".

John Williams, not even a question.

Anyone who says Danny Elfman needs to have his ass removed.

James Newton Howard... his catalogue is almost too broad to describe. I think his best work was on Peter Jackson's 'King Kong', (he also worked on the 'Batman Begins' and 'Dark Knight' scores, Zimmer does NOT get all the credit for that).

I also like James Horner. Look him up on IMDb, it seems like he scored almost everything. My favorite of his is actually 'The Wrath of Khan', (yeah, I know, it's corny).

Third for me is John Williams. He is routinely given a freedom to carry scenes in a way that is usually denied to film composers, and the results are always good. Howard Shore was given that kind of freedom when he was working on LotR, and it stands well above the rest of his work... I think these days he'd rather tour playing the LotR symphony than score new movies.

Danny Elfman was much better as a rock musician, his orchestral scores all sound the same, (kinda like Zimmer).

I put Morricone in the same boat as Vangelis Papathanassiou: they've had some iconic and cutting-edge works, but their overall catalogue is narrow or limited.

John Williams tied with James Horner. #2 would be Jerry Goldsmith

my favorite scores from them would be

John Williams: Star Wars Prequel Trilogy and Robin Hood
James Horner: Titanic and Willow
Jerry Goldsmith: Basic Instinct
