Nomura on trying to alter the gameplay for FF XIII and Versus XIII

Pretty dodgy translation, doesn't make a lot of sense but you takes what you gets!

I worry about the direction SE is taking the FF series. I've been a fan of Final Fantasy my whole life. I specifically bought the Nintendo DS for FFIII and the 4 FF games on GBA, 5 if you count tactics. I hope they don't steer too far away from their roots. With FFXII, the group took the game more in the "action" genre but it was still very much an RPG, so it didn't bother me terribly. If the game becomes more action based, I'll be pissed. Versus can be like what ever the hell it wants, I'm not excited about that game. Sure I'll give it a play, out of curiosity, but I probably won't buy it. There are plenty of action-rpg's out there, please let FFXIII be more traditional, like 1 thru 10. That's just my opinion.

The recent announcement from Square was that there would be no release for the PS3 until April of 2008.

its weird i was checking on gamespot.com and they have the new final fantasy as a release date of the Q4 07 i was like what!!!

I'd be really happy to see FFXIII out by next April in Japan. FFXII has only been out for a year, so that'd actually be a really fast sequel based on Square's history. I know FFXII was delayed extensively, and that they always produce two games concurrently, so if FFXIII actually kept on schedule it should be due very soon. They'd just better make it amazing... I LOVED FFXII!

I need a new FF every 6-10 months. That gives me plenty of time to put in my 100-200+ hours. But I guess the wait builds excitement. Plus it gives me time to go back and replay some of my old FF faves.
