Default Square Enix: 360 Easier To Program For Than PS3

Developer of the RPG, Last Remnant, Hiroshi Takai talked about about which of the two consoles he'd rather be developing games for (PS3 vs. 360). Here is what he said:

"It's been the team's first time working with Xbox 360 and the Unreal Engine. In both cases the experience has been a positive one. In fact, as we've only just finished work on Last Remnant I don't even know what my next project is going to be at Square Enix. However, I'm very much hoping it'll be for Xbox 360 as it's been a lot easier to work with than PlayStation 3."

This is a historic day! We have found the last remaining development team on Earth that thinks 360 is easier to develop on then PS3. Maybe we should stuff them and display them in the museum of Natural History next to the caveman exhibit.

LOL. That's great!

I'd take a trip to the museum for that. LOL

Do I smell a boycott brewing?

We don't need to buy half-ass attempts at PS3 ports from developers that don't put anything into their PS3 projects.

There are too many good games for us gamers to waste our money on garbage. Especially in this economy.

TLR uses UE3.0 and that engine is optimized for the 360, this is not surprising.

Unreal Engine 3.0 is outdated in terms of PS3 development, yet cutting edge in the Non-HD world of 360.

Every day I hear something like this makes me only want to buy games that have been developed for the PS3 only.

Totally true. 360 development is archaic.

Good man! That's what we did when we boycotted Gabe Newell and Valve. We don't need to give our money to half-a*s developers that are against PS3 development, especially in this economy.

I don't see why this is bad.. hell it is probably easier to develop for the Gameboy than the 360.. but what does that mean? Does that mean gameboy is the best system? No just the easiest to develop for..

More times than not, easier to develop for = older system capable of less therefore less work to develop..

And look how great TLR was on the 360. Meh, another useless quote that I'm sure the M$ camp and its fanboys are riding on to bring another kick to Sony's balls.

I think that is human nature...

At work if your boss gave you a choice would you choose the small stack or the larger stack that requires months of extra work attached to it...

Hasn't just about every developer said the PS3 was harder to develop for... then later followed up with statements of wonder about how - now that they learned alot, they were impressed with the power and capability?

How about a little protest list of dual support games, so I can avoid them??? And a list of PS3 exclusives...

All I will say to this is talk to Naughty Dog and you will find out the PS3 is not hard to develop on. To me this is saying they are lazy developers over at Square Enix.

I still think Naughty Dog is the best Game Developer out there.

I'm not buying anything that is released by the Square enix development team. If they go full force into PS3 development I will change my mind. Until then I won't buy anything they work on.

Well what did you expect?!? S-E has YET to release a major game to the PS3. They have no experience with it, so they have no clue what they are doing!
They are the dumb-asses that sold out the MS and they are going to suffer from these production problems. I hope they learn how dumb they have been and wake up!

"Easier to develop for" Doesn't equal "Better product"

In what alternate galaxy is the 360 not an hd console? Seriously?

But in many cases it does equal a more profitable product.

Why would you want to miss out on a great game just because it is multi-platform? Are you a gamer first? Or a Sony loyalist first?
