Lately I as looking at the review on dreamworks and bluesky animation on their blurays and it looks like they achieved a level to match pixar in every way is it better now?Monster versus Aliens spectacular ,IceAge3 is coming out,Pixar might have the lead in that department before, but looking at it now the game has change.I could be wrong ,Iwould like some feedbackThanks Videophile is welcome

No, Pixar is the best studio in America for CGI movies. Dreamworks is lucky to be in the conversation. Besides isn't Dawn of the Dinosaur Fox?

Regardless of technology Pixar has far superior stories and characters. I would expect Pixar to get it's first Best Picture Oscar nomination for Up now that they are allowing 10 Best Picture nominees. And yes, Ice Age 3 is Fox.

Edit: Apparently Blue Sky is an animation studio owned by Fox.

Even though Monsters vs. Aliens and Meet The Robinson's looked good, Pixar has them beat hands down with their stories.

No.
The people at Pixar are still wiping the floor with all other animation studios. Period.

They might be getting closer on the animation level (still not there I think).

But the storytelling and the emotion infused in digital characters? Not even in the same neighborhood imo. Maybe not even the same country.

I thought Dreamworks Animation had finally turned a corner with Kung Fu Panda which I thought was their best film since the original Shrek. However Monsters vs Aliens disappointed me greatly and I felt was a step backwards for Dreamworks.

Meet the Robinsons is a Disney Animated film.

An interesting story behind this movie. At the time this movie was being made, all the turmoil within Disney was going on with former CEO Michael Eisner. Many did not like the direction he was taking the company (rightly so) and Pixar was oh so close to becoming an independent company. Supposedly the original script for Meet the Robinsons was an absolute mess and the movie was destined to be a big failure. Well luckily Eisner was forced out, Disney and Pixar reached an agreement, and Toy Story director John Lasseter was brought in to help salvage Meet the Robinsons. The script went through many revisions and and finally reached a level of quality that Lasseter was comfortable with.

So you see, the ONLY reason why Meet the Robinsons is as good as it is is because a Pixar guy had his hand in making it.

Thumbs up Picture

Well guys if you bought kungfu panda and said pixar ahead of them you told a good joke, bluesky(iceage series and iceage3) in that club, the story can be shifty at times but look at Madagascar2 .I am sorry to say now they are rolling with the topdogs,Look at that bluray pictures and their latest review, now when monster versus aliens come out on blu-nothing but net result.Pixar -up is a dry up story now they have to do toystory3 in order to be on their game.Walle almost bite the dust, dreamworks is no joke now,few years ago we can laugh and tell joke about them.Stop believing Pixar on top they will be calling dreamworks on advice on how great they are and blueskys to assist them on how to get their video to look good as dreamwork on bluray you can lol response.

I have Kung Fu Panda - Ratatouille is a better movie.
Better PQ, better story, better period.

Why ask for feedback then try to berate everyone when they tell you you're mistaken?
Pixar is the top.
DW is close, but not quite there yet. Sorry friend.

I am disputing you!
Kung Fu Panda was great, it was not Pixar great.

Space bar dude, use it.
Rat smokes Kung Fu Panda.
M v A was a serious step backwards.

I'll ask again, why did you ask for feedback and then get upset at the responses?

The bar got raise for dreamwork when they done madagascar2 and went on a animation assault with Kungfu panda.Pixar kind of dozed of and took a nap few and to many which eyesbrows been raised they now realize they lost that top spot.Beo&Oluefson top dog in the audio department and been that way for along time, you think cerwin vega or bose or even Klisph will take them?Probadly not, Ice tech tech comes from the elite boys in the audio department,Beo not planning to take a nap at all that why they undistiputed king.

I would try and dispute your points but I can't figure out what you're trying to say so I'll just go with simple stats:

Box Office:
Up: $264,000,000
Monsters vs. Aliens: $196,000,000

Rotten Tomatoes Review Score:
Up: 97%
Monsters vs. Aliens: 72%

Though I typically am a Pixar guy. I love them all, but I really enjoyed Kung Fu Panda too. I haven't seen Up or M v A... However, if M v A got a 72, that's pretty damn good.

Any movie over 70 is usually pretty darn good. Obviously, 97 is near perfection. But let's be real, Pixar is the most successful production company ever. EVER!!!!!!!!

That being said, a 72% and 196,000,000 is nothing to scoff at.

As far as picture goes, I'd say Pixar will always have the edge.
