Optimal settings for Sony BDP-S350 and Yamaha RXV1400

hi folks

Could anyone recommend what audio settings to use with Sony BDP-S350 player connected to a Yamaha RXV1400 receiver over optical (fiber) connection for audio please.

Perhaps 2 different settings for BluRay disks vs regular DVDs ?

for optical set to "Direct"

Dolby Digital = Dolby Digital
Dts = Dts

For the real optimum you need a receiver with hdmi connectivity. Nonetheless, I would trust your ears more than anything, and perhaps tweak your equalizer.

will give that a shot thanks...I feel as if the sound in the sides/rear speakers is not optimal.

I have a question regarding the same player different receiver though. What should the dynamic range control be set to if I want it off? Should it be standard?

Wide Range= NO DRC applied
