Default Pixel Orbiter question for Panasonic Plasma.

With regards to my PX80U or any Panny plasma for that matter, I'm curious if the pixel orbiter shifts the image horizontally or vertically or both? I can't quite tell when I look at the screen when it shifts. The only thing that causes IR, since I only use my set for DVD's and BD's is letterbox films, and I was curious how the orbiter shifts the image. Anyone have any information?
