Default Samsung BD-P1600 flickering issues

Hi all,

Just like my P1600, I'm new to Bluray.

Last Friday I bought this player and since then I've enjoyed the visual quality it offers, but there's this annoying flickering in some scenes of random movies. This will be focused on certain parts of a movie scene.

To add to that, darker scenes show a flicker that seems to be related to the refresh rate over the whole screen. The funny thing is, my Xbox with DVR-MS source material (15GB Metallica movie - 25MB/s Video) has nothing of this kind - and the Metallica movie is full HD. In fact, WMV/DVR-MS over Xbox VGA link to my TV has none of the above issues I have with the P1600.

Is it the player? Must I send it back and try another unit?

I'm using the 40A550 Samsung TV.

I didn't have the problem you're having, but I was having lip-sync issues with my Samsung 3600. What kind of HDMI cable are you using? I didn't realize at the time that I was not using a v1.3/high speed/Category 2 cable and when I got one, it made all the difference. Try that out before returning anything.
