Default Those of you who bought the $600 launch PS3

Do you now wish you had waited since it's $300 these days? Or are you happy you jumped in at the beginning? I doubt I could pay $600 for a PS3 even though it's probably the best piece of technology I've ever owned.

Be grateful they did. Not only did these people pay over the odds for the best kit in town, knowing that it would come down in price later, they probably saved Blu-ray. I say thank you to all of the people who jumped in at the beginning.

I don't regret that i got it day 1. I love my PS3 and everything it has to offer. It's been a pleasure to see how it evolved through updates and so on. Sony did good.

Plus, like having backwards compatibility with PS1 & 2 games.

No regret what so ever. Camping out in front of store in the cold windy dust/dawn was worth every second of it.

Note: I had no clue of the format war, nor backward capability within the system itself, nor how many USB port it came with. I just know it's PS3 and I gotta have it on launch. As with PS1 and PS2, it's like a tradition I would say.

Definately worth the 600 bucks.

Come PS4 I'll do the same.

No regrets at all!... hell, I'll do it again next gen!

I had some really fun times when the PS3 was new... I noticed most of the online players back then were 25 to 40 years old, so there were never any annoying teenagers talking crap.

No regret whatsoever! If I had to do it all over again knowing the price would drop to what it is today I'd do it again. If you really think about it, we knew the price would eventually drop anyways.

Yeah... No regrests whatsoever (i paid a lot for my PS3 cause I was living in Mexico at the time... paid like 900 bucks.... but it was worth it). It's the most complete SKU and I changed the hard drive out for a 250 gb drive. Was also able to take advantage of a lot of the BOGO BD sales back then. Wish those came back!!! hahahaha

Bought two 60gigs on launch, sold both that day for $3400 cash. No regrets.

Got a 20gig a month later for myself.

How could anyone regret getting a PS3 almost 3 years ago? It just means you have had 3 years of great gaming and blu-ray watching. In 3 more years when the PS3 is $120 will those that pay $300 now regret it? Of course not.

LOL wow glad to see such positive responses. I remember when it came out at $600, at the time I was making like $250 a month so there was no way I was going to get it. My PS2 was good enough for awhile but the PS3 is by far my favourite thing I own.

Thumbs up

$600 is a bargain for the central hub of a home theater worth thousands. It's an amazing machine.

No regrets. To this day the launch 60GB unit is the most full-featured console on the market, bar none. It slices, it dices, it makes Julienne fries!

PS3 games, PS2 games, PS1 games, SACDs, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, Memory Sticks, SD cards, it handles them all flawlessly.

You'd have to pry my launch PS3 out of my cold, dead fingers.
