Got mine today... and the damn mail person left them on my front step!
Good thing I live in a safe neighborhood.

The packaging was aweful to say the least... it was the same type that single movies come in... only 4 times larger. There was even a hole in the cardboard. I was expecting the worst.

Thankfully, only one has major damage to it... the rest all look great other than some shelfwear.

I'm not sure I'll order that many from amazon.de again.

scary indeed but it after seeing that it actually makes me feel quite lucky that most of my steels came undamaged. I guess you cant place all blame on amazon. With all the comments about the condition people are recieving of the MM amazons I'm getting worried about my harry potters.

What the hell are they thinking? I mean what a hopelessly misguided shipping enterprise that is. If the USPS made a video like that, they would be sued left and right, and IMO, rightfully so. That is just lazy and disrespectful to your paying customers. If I was Amazon, and saw that I would drop them immediately.

This.

All postal systems work the same way because the people that are hired to transport usually run on a tight schedule and don't give extra care to packages.

It was outside the shrink wrap. Came off very easily with no residue left behind.

I would say how about using a box rather than those stupid wraparound packages. I saw JW's comment about the US using the same method and I am sure he is right but at least they usually use a box instead of those wraparounds.

It's a miracle that any of them arrive unscathed.

The best part is when the guy is talking and you hear the loud THUD of the packages behind him. He sort of pauses at one point too. My word, no wonder just about all those steelbooks have loose discs....

I now understand why UPS boxes arrive as sent, they are handled by hand to a degree.

Perhaps this is a silly question....but if I ordered five steelbooks and asked to ship as soon as they were available, will they charge my order extra shipping if it was broken up into two orders when shipped? I know that Amazon US Prime doesn't do that.

I put on my order to ship all of them at once and they broke up my order into 4 pieces (15 SteelBooks) and they didn't charge me extra for it, but I also didn't request it and actually wanted them sent all at once instead of separate shipments.

Yes, you pay more because it's technically multiple shipping orders.
Like kaliraver said, if you choose the option "Send in one package", then if they split it up, they don't charge you extra for it.

Well, last time they sent me Fight Club by itself and it arrived snugged and in pristine condition. I hope the same will happen when my Gladiator shows up

Got mine today as well. I only ordered 3 steelbooks. One had a large dent in the right upper corner. The other two both had shelfwear and each had one minor ding at the back. I'll think twice before ordering from Amazon.de again.
