Default Black Friday decision

Ok, so the Best Buy ad is out and I need some help. I am trying to decide whether or not to buy the Panasonic P50U1 or the Samsung 50B530S2F. I was looking at the S1 yesterday, but now I don't know what to do. The S1 seems a little better, however for the prices there may be subtle differences that I can live with and may not even notice.

This would be replacing our fried out 54"RCA projection tv, right now we are using the 27" from the bedroom.

Suggestions ???

I don't think you could go wrong with either...perhaps let your wallet decide?

Just going to throw this out there... but if you don't need 1080p, you go with the deal Dell is having right now on the TC-P50X1 for $669.

Thanks for the reply, however this is no longer an issue. The wife and I decided to go ahead and buy a tv today. Purchased a 52" Samsung LN52B630. Delivery next week wed. Also picked up a new Denon AVR790 for an upgrade in our receiver.

Only decision now is, do I wait in line for the deal on Blu-rays? We'll see.

How did you go from considering a plasma to settling on a LCD?

Say what you want....After reading the reviews on various models, then seeing them in person plus the amount of sunlight into the living room......I feel we went with the best choice for us.

at least you went with a Sammy LCD and not a Sony. No disrespect to XBR9/V/Z series owners out there. I just think the Sammys look better.

make sure you eventually get your set calibrated, man. It's gonna cost you a few hundred bucks, but it will be the best few hundred bucks you ever spent

isnt the 630 a glossy screen though? the glossy LCD screens are far worse for glare than plasmas

Congrats! When you get that thing home it's going to look like a MONSTER for the first couple weeks, then it's just happens to be exactly the right size!

NO, the B630 is a non-glare screen and the B650 has the glossy.

plus with gaming you get a delay with the crappy lcd's.

better pic = plasma = ill always buy a plasma

dont you hate when the UNeducated try to convince you that lcd is better than plasma.....hahahaha

Well, it's a little too late for that. No need to call the LCDs "crappy" and make the man/woman feel stupid for thier buying decision. We have the freedom to choose what technology we want...unless our wonderful president here in the good 'ol US of A tries to ban all plasmas (which wouldn't surprise me considering how f*cked his priorities are )

...with that being said, I would have went plasma too.
