Default Finally bought a laptop...

For most of you, laptops are old hat. For me, these is a whole new world!

I love it. The portability is so convenient it's ridiculous. My kids took over the old desktop, which I basically use for storage now.

Wi-fi is also fantastic.

Probably one of the best $1000 dollar purchases I've ever made. It's pretty fast too.

I always figured the next computer would be a laptop, and now I realize the advantages first hand. No more desktops for this guy.

Samsung Q320

13.4" LED backlit
Intel P8700 @ 2.53 ghz
4 gigs of ram.

Thought about upgrading to a 7200 rpm hd, but passed. This is fast enough, and once I get the windows 7 upgrade it'll a lot faster.

Does everything I need and the HDMI out is sweet.

edit: Oh ya, it's got a dedicated video card, so it'll be better for gaming, although I didn't buy it for that.

Good deal, I was afraid of taking the plunge years ago and I'm glad I did. No desktop has entered my house since my wife and I got married and that one only lasted a month before I gave it away.

How's your battery life ?

It's right around the 4 hr mark, with constant use. I don't game though, so not sure what it would be if I pushed it.

I've been building my own pc's for yrs. I love the control over what components go in it. Plus I can upgrade it and fix problems myself. Thats the main reason, and It's HUGE if you ask me.

I'll learn to live with it eventually.

Not at all, I've been unemployed since May. I've been working for the last 13 yrs, and have been in sales for half of that, but no way in hell am I even close to an executive.

Did you get that from my rant about being contacted for entry level jobs?
