Default November looking to be a good month for film classics

While the floodgates are nowhere near open, November is shaping up to be where we are getting a nice classic almost every week in November:

Nov. 3rd:
Alfred Hitchcock’s 1959 North by Northwest
It’s A Wonderful Life
A Christmas Carol (Alastair Sim)

Nov. 10th:
Buster Keaton in The General

November 17th:
Gone With the Wind

I would love to have a great classic every week slipped in with all the other things coming out on Blu every Tuesday.

I love the classics. Hopefully we will see more next year when the format is expected to be "mainstream".

Same here. I cannot keep up with all the new releases which could be a good thing. By the time I have the money alot of these will drop in price and it will be like getting 2 for the price of one.

I will be getting It's A Wonderful Life, Frank Capra on BD, YES SIR

I am very interested in The General a great classic with Buster Keaton.

I might get North By Northwest a bit later when price drop, it's not my favorite Hitchcock so I am not in a hurry.

Gone With The Wind should look amazing on BD but I am not interested in the collector box, so I will wait for now

Hopefully GWTW will have single and three-disc releases at Walmart and Target like Wizard of Oz did!

Actually, I didn't forget Forrest Gump. I deliberately didn't include it because I was focusing on older movie classics (pre-1960).

I'll be picking up:

North by Northwest
It's a Wonderful Life
Gone With The Wind
and definitely Forrest Gump

Just FYI: They're doing the same thing with Gone With the Wind as they did with Wizard of Oz, having different packages at different stores, just in case there were people on this thread that didn't want the "Collector's Box Set".

I actually cannot find the link anymore for the Standard Edition GWTW. I wonder what they did with it?

I'm definitely gonna pick up NBNW - It's about damn time they put some Hitchcock on Blu!

And if there's gonna be a "movie only" version of Gone With The Wind, like Wal-Mart did for Wizard of Oz, I'm gonna be all over that too.

Hitchcock's "The 39 Steps" is coming out in October in the UK.

Thanks for telling us.

I'm not even gonna wait for a price drop for The General and North by Northwest. I'm buying those day one because they are worth every damn penny.
