Default LG 32" LCD Blacking out during viewing.

I have been having a problem with my 32" LG. Every so often, during gameplay or just watching movies or cable, it would occasionally blackout. When i say blackout, i mean the picture/signal would dissappear. I dont know if this is the TVs fault or the HDMI cable's fault, or the Receiver's fault. Has anyone else had this problem? I am starting to get real annoyed cause it is happening more often now and i dont know if i should buy a new set.

I had the same problem with my 37" LG. It was an HDMI cable. Try swapping the cables around to see if that's the cause and to isolate the one that's bad...

I've seen this before but not with an LG, so I couldn't say if its the TV or not. It could be an issue with the receiver or a bad cable. Try connecting your PS3 directly to the TV and see if you continue to get this problem. Another possible issue could be an HDMI port flaking out so you could try switching to another one.

Ok Thanks for the input guys. I'll try switching the cables around. It seems to be happening more when my friends and I play Ultimate Alliance 2. When we get to a part where a big flash or action happens it shuts off. the last time it did it, i had to switch inputs on the receiver to get it to show an image.

I have a feeling it maybe the RCA flat HDMI cable that is connected to the output of the Receiver. It does happen when i watch tv through my cable box.

It is most likely the HDMI cable. My TV does it only when I watch television, Which means there is a connection problem.

I used the rocketfish ones from bestbuy. I just have a bad cable though and use them on the rest of my system to.

If it is happening mostly with the ps3, it may be a firmware issue. There are a few posts over on the official PS3 forums where people are having this problem since firmware 3.0.

I have a feeling its the HDMI connection on the TV. You barely tap the cord near the tv connection and it blinks out. ill try connecting it to one of the other inputs.

Ok, so after trying to play the demo for brutal legend and the tv blacking out every second, i tried switching out the RCA Flat HDMI cable that was connected to the TV From the output of the receiver. After that it worked fine. So the culprit was the HDMI cable. If someone else had a better experience with the RCA HDMI cables good for you. For me though, its save to say i will not be purchasing anything from them in the foreseeable future. I bought a Sony HDMI cable from walmart for 40 dollars and it works beautifully. Thanks for all the help everyone.

Default Motorola HDMI blacking out

The problem is the reciever. The next time it blacks out just rewind 30 seconds and you'll see what you missed. This wouldn't happen if it was the cable, signal or TV. It's a receiver issue and you need to return the unit before the warranty is up. Keep returning it if the problem persists.

I am just curious about this...You made this post on 10/1. You received the FIX by a poster on the same day less than 4 hours after you made your first post.

Then you proceeded to bump this thread for days and days and didn't actually try this fix until you obviously got frustrated. You could have done everyone a favor and took the second persons advice here and saved some bandwidth and server disk space by not bumping this thread over and over when the answer was already given but for some reason you decided to ignore it for days.

Just trying to figure this out..
