Weeds: Season 4 (Canadian Blu-ray) confirm Region? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi,

can someone confirm region on canadian release of Weeds: Season 4 (Blu-ray). The US release from Lionsgate Films is confirmed region A.
What about the canadian release from Maple Studios.

weeds season 4 will be out..i have season 2 and 3 on blu-ray and season 1 on dvd. i like that show and it makes our family laugh big time

If the US release was locked as region A, I can almost guarantee that the Canadian one from Maple (Lionsgate being the parent to Maple) will also be locked. I cannot confirm for sure, however.

I seem to remember there was some other topic where a hi-res scan of the back of the canadian release revealed only the dreaded A symbol...

There is glimmer of hope for those looking for a region B weeds blu-ray. Season 4 has been broadcasted in a region B country (The Netherlands), and currently Season 5 is on the air over there.

This theoretically means Season 4 and Season 5 could be released over there on blu. In fact, season 4 has apparently been released on DVD in The Netherlands.

Unfortunately, season 1 is still the only official region B season on blu, despite the fact nearly every region B country has at least had all first 3 seasons on TV. So let's not get our hopes up too much...

This is probably a mistake but on CD WOW it says that Weeds Season 4 is region free.
Should be with that price

Most likely a mistake, just as the video format surely isn't NTSC either. This is also very likely to be US version, judging from the sub-titles. In Europe there is far less demand for Spanish than in the US and a UK release either has no foreign language sub-titles or has a whole plethora of them.

A small glimmer of hope is that newer batches of Weeds Season 4 are now region free, but I somehow doubt that. Even though it would be the more moral thing for Showtime to do. After all, region coding's only somewhat legitimate purpose is that of timing. There is no reason really that a title should be locked indefinitely...

update:
Checked out the other seasons, and this site is probably full of crap. Season 2 is listed as being region A, which is definitely not the case.
