Default UP $29.96 at Wal-mart instore?

I swung by Wal-mart tonight as I usually do before a big release date to see if there are spots open on the shelf for the new releases. Well I see the spots for UP and Monsters Inc. and they were both priced at $29.96. I thought UP was supposed to be $19.96 in store? Has anyone stopped today and noticed this too? Sorry for another UP thread, I thought this would be on interet to a lot of people.

That's next week. There was never any indication as to what the in-store price would be this week, so $30 for both Up and Monsters Inc doesn't surprise me.

I've seen the circular where it shows UP and 3 others including Star Trek. The wording "Available Nov 17th" is next to Star Trek so I thought it was for that.

They don't usually sticker the shelf with sale prices at our walmart. I'm going to check it out at midnight anyway at our local supercenter, esp if that fabled $10.00 Up coupon comes online.

The Wal-Mart near me prices their shelf labels with the sale price. Please post back here with your findings...thanks.

It was 29.96 at mine (although Snow White was 24.96 and rang up at 19.96). Best Buy has the best price until Saturday.

I called my Walmart last night and they told me $29.96 as well. However, they also had Monsters vs. Aliens on the shelf as 29.96 when it came out but rung up as 19.96. Who knows. I don't think anyone on this forum will be buying in store from Walmart for that price when they can buy Up and Monsters Inc cheaper the just buying one of them at Walmart.

What about Monsters Inc? I saw both on the shelves for $30, but didn't think that I had to scan them to find out.

....which is not surprising. Within a 30-mile radius of where I live, there are 6 Walmarts (3 within 12 miles) and it's not uncommon to find different prices for new releases at the three nearest WMs. Each store sets its own prices on Blu-ray and DVD media, unless there's a specific advertised price(s) in that week's flyer. The Walmart closest to me (about 7 minutes away) sells most Blu-ray new releases for ~$30, even though Best Buy is just a few steps away.

There is never a consensus price on new releases where Walmart is concerned.

When I was there in the morning, the shelf showed the price of UP as $29, but it rang up to $19. I don't think it is uncommon for the shelf and computer to be out of sync.

I bought Up this morning from our local Wal-Mart for $19.96. There was a red and white sticker with $19.96 over the normal price tag on the shelf.
