Dave has cost me thousands of dollars , The first BluRay Music Disc I purchased was Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds Live @RCMH ,one of the best BluRay concerts ever , I was hooked , It looked so good on my Samsung lcd TV but I know I was missing good quality sound over the tv speakers , So I purch some good quality speakers and a AVR , Oh my the sound is fantastic .Fast forward 1 Year and I am Best Buy and see the Dave and Tim on Blue Ray Playing on a Pioneer Kuro plasma TV and it looks way better than my LCD TV, So guess what , I took it home , Thanks Dave , keep it up !

I have seen Dave Matthews Band 41 times since November 17th, 1998...and not just at the local venue either. Road trips, hotels, gas, tickets, tailgating expenses, but I've had some of the greatest times of my life seeing this band and meeting new friends all across Canada and USA. I met my wife at a DMB show and the majority of my closest circle of friends are all people that I've met at DMB shows.
![]() Amazing music, amazing musicians (especially Carter Beauford on the drums) and just a great time overall. I look forward to the first DMB Blu-ray. |

Usually Letterman tapes around 5pm so that seems like a tight squeeze to get back to IN in time. Perhaps they taped the other performance yesterday in advance. According to Stefan's Facebook page the band left NYC last night. My friend got to meet Stefan, Boyd and Dave after the taping outside Ed Sullivan, lucky!! No Blu-ray news on DMB yet, but I'm sure it's not far off. Central Park was taped in HD and 24-bit audio so they could do a release of that. |

The 24-bit/48kHz 2.0 PCM track was mighty nice though. Quote:

I wish DMB would offer more soundboards...but I'm pretty happy with the taping community as they usually tape in 24-bit and most of the big shows (Alpine, SPAC, Gorge, etc.) are available in 24-bit. The bands themselves could learn a thing or two from the tapers - I would definitely pay a few bucks each to DMB for 24-bit/96kHz .flac soundboards!! The best performances are always from shows with guys like this and I'm sure no doubt you phishheads talk about songs, dates and venues the same way my friends and I talk about dmb shows. "Have you heard Dreaming Tree from 07.25.98?" "Yeah, with Greg Howard on stage? Totally awesome! You heard Two Step from 09.22.06?" Haha. |

Yeah I saw the Palladia broadcast too and wasn't impressed - anytime there was lots of lighting changes, fast movement like close-ups of Carter with cymbals shining, etc., it would pixelate really badly...and the blacks still looked washed out compared to Central Park.
I'd certainly love to see a Blu-ray release though, if the potential is there they'll get it...but it definitely didn't seem like it had the kind of production that Radio City had. Anyway, it always seemed silly to me that the Warehouse advertised Piedmont Park DVD as being "shot in high definition to provide viewers the ultimate sound and vision quality" despite using a format that gave us 448 Kbps 5.1 and 480i MPEG-2 encoded video. A Blu-ray would give us 24/96 5.1 I have no doubt...as DMB has been archiving every show multi-tracked at 24/96 since April 30th, 1996. |

Great venue - they have seen some AWESOME show there over the years.
Bartender from 07.25.01 with Jeff Coffin guesting is one of the top 3 performances of that song all time! Haha, it's the most beautiful place I've ever tailgated...such a cool town also. |
