Default Outlaw The LFM-1 EX or AV123 MFW15

I am currently upgrading my sub in my home theater and I was really set on the MFW15, til I saw the outlaw sub. It looks like a rebaged HSU. Just trying to see who has experience with the sub. Both seem to dig deep to about 16hz and in room could be lower. I just want to make the right decision. Thanks guys

Both subwoofers are great.

Check the Outlaw Owners Thread, Hsu Owners Thread, and AV123 Owners Thread.

I agree with BD....you really can't go wrong with either....so perhaps aesthetics might play into your decision. I would check out the links provided by BD and see which one might visually fit into your HT better.....

Default I love my Outlaw sub!

I have the LFM 1Ex and am so pleased witht he performance. It provides very deep solid bass for music and home theater. I had mine for a couple of years and definately would say they are great sounding and built like a tank!

I just hooked up my MFW-15 today. I just watched Iron Man and it just blew me away. It took my abuse when playing music and asked for more. It is incredibly well constructed (little/no annoying cabinet vibrations/noises) and looks great. The low end response had my entire ventilation system rattling and seemed like a big rig was bearing down on me.

I had a whole bunch of options, but the veneer option sealed the deal. I like the old school wooden cabinets.

I have an Outlaw LFM-1c and love the sound. But it was too small for my living room so I moved it to the game room. I considered getting the bigger Outlaw, but went with the MFW-15 instead and love it. I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

Everything is great. Work got busy, I started getting back into photography, and been working on the never ending list of things for the house. Also, my wife and I are expecting a baby girl in early March! But, I should have some more time to check in on the forums now.

After adding the BAs & the MFW15 I'm pretty happy with my HT... It is probably a little safer to limit my exposure to the crazy spending ideas that float around on here. I haven't had to tweak anything in a while and I'm very happy with the video & audio.

OP: I think the MFW-15 will outperform the Outlaw down low, but depending on how hard you plan on pushing 'em it may not make a difference. The Outlaw subs were designed by HSU so that is why they look like a HSU sub.

Congrats on the new soon-to-be addition!! What # would this be? What is the expected date...my son was born March 11 and my daughter was born March 15......?

I understand the spending thing.....my goal by the end of 2010 are a new front soundstage and amp.....but we'll see how disciplined I can be. I added a projector last month.......and then started in on posters, collectibles and some aesthetics for the room as well.

Sometime around March 5th and this will be our first. I saw the pictures of your new setup in your gallery. It looks great and I bet the projector rocks. That really makes it a true "Home Theater". I want one some day, but not until I can dedicate a room just for HT.

Wow, your first....thats awesome! I don't need to tell you that your life will change, but if you plan on any new equipment upgrades, get them in before the baby gets here....it is a lot tougher afterwards....especially when playing your HT as a nice, loud volume.....your MFW-15 may begin to feel neglected soon thereafter.....make peace with it now and start watching some blu's.

The projector is awsome...my wife loves it a lot more than she thought, she keeps asking me if I am going to pull down the screen and turn it on with just about any show or movie we watch on regular TV.....I luv that woman!
