That's completely untrue......

For "most" cases I would say "Get a Plasma.... the PQ (to me) is better and light can always be controlled"

But if you know it's going to be used in a lot of direct light...... neither will be "great" but LCD should have an edge under those conditions.

i would day plasma. I love plasma, offers superior color palletes over LCD, and the anti glare screens on plasmas have come a long way.

Normally I'd suggest a Panasonic plasma, but I think THIS PN58B650 Samsung is a better choice in your situation. This set has an excellent filter on it and it will do a much better job in a bright setting. It preserves black very well in these conditions. For just under $1800 shipped its a great deal. If you want to step it up a bit you can get THIS PNB860 for $2200 shipped. It is a lot more stylish being that its very thin and elegant. Its picture is excellent as well as its filter. I believe these to be your best choices in bright conditions should you go with plasma.

I own the PNB850 and I love the sleek design of it! It has great PQ once calibrated and its only about 1.5in thick
