Default Transformers 2 Big Screen Edition not so big?

I just recieved and watched some of my 'big screen edition/imax' version of the film Transformers 2- the walmart special one. Anyways, much to my dismay it still displays the classic black letterboxing bars just like the regular one I've seen previously, why is that?

In The Dark Knight, during the imax scenes, the image fills the entire screen yet in this movie it seems there are no special scenes....what gives? The blue ray says 'big screen edition' right on the disc as well as the packaging too-

What am I missing here?

The fight in the forest has no "black bars." Neither does portions of the Devastator sequence. That's all there is.

I'm new to this dvd so forgive me if I'm 'beating a dead horse', I can't believe the imax scenes are so limited, what a rip off/false advertisement on their behalf!

Again wow, weak....very weak-

I dont think he expected the WHOLE thing, just an experience more akin to Dark Knight, which is a horrible expectation because Transformers 2 sucked sweaty, dog poop covered rat testicles whereas Dark Knight was amazing

It's executed poorly compared to The Dark Knight. The forest fight is about the only portion of the film that feels "complete" with only about 2 cuts of regular 35mm footage.

The Devastator scenes in Egypt is like a last minute thing and you can definitely sense it.
I'd personally prefer to get the regular version if I had a second chance. But since I've already bought it...what the heck.

Oh what am I saying? I wouldn't even buy the regular BD if I knew the IMAX portions were going to be this limited.
