Default Anybody else have trouble watching DVDs?

The other day I felt an urge to watch National Treasure (I don't know why), but I only have it on standard DVD. I took out my boxes of DVDs and finally found it and then popped it into my Blu-ray player. I thought there was something wrong with my television, even with the upconversion. I have been watching nothing but Blus for so long that DVDs look very poor to me. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes and no!! Some DVD's still look good but still do not compare to a Blu. I watched The Island the other day on my projector and was totally disgusted with the video. It looked terrible. While on the other hand Return of the Jedi on DVD actually looked good on my projector. I think it depends on what special features they have crammed on the DVD that would otherwise go to a semi good transfer.

For Return of the Jedi, there were no special features allowing more space for the transfer! While The Island had a couple of hours of additional video on the same disc!

I watched Star Wars ep 1&2 today. I still enjoy it but what can you do? Ya...they could look better. I am still waiting patiently, Mr. Lucas.

That's true. You really can't do anything about films that are yet to come to Blu-ray, but I realized I am now going to hunt for the lowest price on the National Treasure 1 & 2 BDs. They aren't the best films, but I can watch them nonstop. They're just flat out entertaining.

I also agree; Star Wars Episode 1 & 2 would be nice.
