Default Worst Movie of 2009...

Which one do you think deserves this honor...

My vote goes to Land of the Lost.

Monsters vs Aliens is the one that disapointed me the most this year

Crank 2. No movie was more of a disappointment to me this year than that.

I actually really enjoyed Monsters vs. Aliens, but a movie can't win 'em all.

I'll get crucified, but Inglorious Basterds.

Only watched a piece of it before turning it off, but what I saw was laughable and atrocious.

Nope, just scalped.

It's alright though. I didn't like it as much as a lot of people either, although I still did get some enjoyment out of it.

The beginning part was laughable and atrocious?

Seriously?

That's pretty strange, the opening scene was pretty brutal.*

Logan

*and by brutal, I mean the dictionary definition of the term not like 'brutal' meaning bad... I also use $#!+ to mean crap... IE 'someone just $#!+ on my cornflakes' because there really isn't a good way to use $#!+ {unless it's in a cornfield}

I so wanted to enjoy it. I was so happy that finaly Dreamworks had done a decent movie with Kung Fu Panda instead of their usual "let's use crap & p1ss to make people laugh" type of movie. I tought the idea behind it was cool, use those old monsters from the 50's and everything. In the end they just did not pull me in. The story was weak, I could sense them going back to their old ways. Just when I tought they might start doing good things and give Pixar a run, nope

Don't get how someone can HATE INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS and turn it off. I mean you may not like it as much as people say, but there is no way you can hate everything about the movie...but then again, this is a world where people judge movies they have not seen (AVATAR), and give up on movies in the first scene.

Nothing wrong with that opinion. I disagree of course, but I can understand why it wouldn't be as universally liked as something like Up.

I tried so hard to have fun with Crank 2. I liked Shoot 'em Up and Doomsday. I just couldn't get into the spirit.

Don't feel bad. I thought Watchmen was horrible.

If I only knew where you lived, I would give you a lifetime of knuckle sandwiches, wedges, noogies, and egg shellings.

Transformers 2. artless, hollow, stupid, childish, and boring, it's everything wrong with the movie industry in 2009. it seems apt to compare it to the other ludicrously expensive blockbuster of the year, but where Avatar is a thrilling two and a half hours of escapism, Transformers is two and a half hours of the very banality you hope to escape going to movies like this.

Crank 2 was god-awful...truly unwatchable bad (I got it from redbox and for some inexplicable reason forced myself through the whole thing). I hated the first one too, but this was even worse.

Halloween 2 is closely behind, maybe equal, just unbelievably terrible. Right behind that is Friday the 13th...enough said.

Terminator: Salvation, Transformers 2, and G.I. Joe are all runner-ups. All 3 were summer blockbusters, and all 3 were pieces of crap.

I haven't seen Land of the Lost or Year One or a lot of the other supposedly bad ones, so I can't rank those.

Most disappointing movie was Funny People. Nowhere near the worst of the year, but I am a huge Judd Apatow fan and that movie was his first failure. You get Seth Rogen, Adam Sandler, and Jonah Hill together, and you make a DRAMA??? I know it is part comedy, but nothing in the movie worked at all for me. A stunning disappointment.

Based on what I've seen so far from this year, which is:
  1. The Unborn
  2. Paul Blart: Mall Cop
  3. Taken
  4. The Uninvited
  5. Push
  6. The Last House on the Left
  7. Miss March (unfortunately....)
  8. Knowing
  9. The Haunting in Connecticut
  10. Fast&Furious
  11. Dragonball Evolution
  12. 17 Again
  13. State of Play
  14. Obsessed
  15. Wolverine
  16. Star Trek
  17. Terminator Salvation
  18. Night at the Museum 2
  19. Up
  20. The Proposal
  21. Transformers 2
  22. Public Enemies
  23. G.I. Joe
  24. The Final Destination
  25. Gamer
  26. Surrogates
  27. Whiteout
  28. 2012
  29. and Avatar

The worst imo were Push, The Last House on the Left, Miss March, The Haunting in Connecticut and The Final Destination. But Miss March took terrible to an entirely new level, it is without a doubt the worst movie I have ever seen. I despise the day I went over to my cousin's house and he ended up wanting to watch that....

I don't like any of Tarantino's films. His dialogue is unbelievable and cloying... I like dialogue to sound real, not sound like someone trying to write catchy dialogue. I also don't really like the films he steals from... therefore, I CAN hate everything about it, and that's entirely my right.

He should be lucky that, after this many film, I even gave it a shot.

Most of the "original" things he's doing have already been done by Godard, anyway. Hence his old production company title "A Band Apart."
