Default Sub Recomendation for Apt.

Hey guys been awhile since i posted i was wondering what a good subwoofer would be for a apartment. My system is set up in a loft, what i have is Pioneer Elite sc05, energy c300,cc100 and cr100. Here is a link to my setup https://forum.blu-ray.com/home-theat...esters-ht.html

And any idea on placement for the sub if you see in first picture i have a wall to the left which would be the neighbors loft, too the right is railing and the pictures were taking from behind the futon which there is aabout 4 feet of space behind that. Any good ideas on where it should go.

Also, i mainly would use it for listening to Movies and playing video games if that makes a difference.

thanks

I'm partial to SVS so I'd say the PB10 or PB12-NSD would be great sub at an affordable price.

Looks like the loft is the wall to the right instead of left? Also, is the loft open to the downstairs?

Your best bang for the buck and solid performer would be the eD A2-300 which is $350 shipped. I would also recommend that you put it on a isolation pad to help the blow your neighbors will get.

Guys, he said UNDER $300 if the Sub is decent.

Well, i just ordered my 2nd PA-120 Sub ($229 + $29 Freight, but was given a code for a 15% discount: $223.65 total end price w/shipping), and I Love it!! Check out The Official Premier Acoustics Subwoofers thread for more info. My Last Post there has more info if you need it.

Another good choice! Since you said you can go higher, go with the eD A2-300. Trust us, you won't regret it.

I'd go for that one. I have the VK-12 which is almost exactly identical less the driver. I'll be buying another VK-12 when I get back to the states. Fantastic sound for movies and music.

yeah the vk-12, pl-200 and the formula subs are HIGHLY underrated. Can hear the bass from 50 yards on the street..

$280 shipped for the PL200 with the coupon code vs $350 shipped + a bit more of a delay for the A2-300.

Though I could care less about craigsubs ranking system I was just curious as to what others thought about this.

This shows the BIC H-100 a mere 5 points under the A2-300
So the PL-200 being a step up from the H-100 would have at least a couple more points I assume. It's the same cabinet with 100 watts more RMS and 2hz lower freq. That's my assumption on it at least. But we all know how assumptions are.

Elemental Designs A2-300 ($350 ID/SI): 83 points (44-39)
SVS PB10-NSD ($429 ID): 83 points (43-40)
Dana Audio 600 ($869 ID): 83 points (36-47)
Rocket X-Sub ($199 ID): 78 points (34-44)
BIC H-100 ($229 eBay): 78 points (40-38)

The A2-300 is pretty fugly in my book (not that it would ever stop me from buying it though) The PL-200, H-100, VK-12 are pretty good looking I think. I have a picture of my VK-12 posted in my gallery. Plus it's about 20lbs lighter. I wish I could hear the A2-300 though to do an actual comparison. But from owning the VK-12 for awhile now and looking at the craigsub score for a lower model BIC, is it still worth an extra $70?

And I'm not bashing ED at all. I know there is a reason why they are the most talked about subwoofers here. I'd love me dual A5-350s..

Hmm, didn't know that the VIC was possibly that close in performance. They sure are nice lookin subs too, and I've heard nothing but great things about them. The thing about the A2-300 is it's just a beast for the price, and it hits hard and goes very low. That would be sweet if they were pretty comparable.

Anyone have first hand experience with both?
