Default Electrical RF Interference?

Hi all,

So I just thought I'd pick your brains about a problem I'm having. I just recently picked up the Harmony 890 remote. One of the biggest reasons I went with the 890 is the ability to control Z-Wave devices (as well as having customizable macros, which I've read are gone on the new 900, etc.).

Anyway, I set up the remote tonight and had very few problems, but when I try to operate our lights (the switch is an Intermatic HA06C) I run into problems. I have to get within about two feet of the dimmer switch for it to receive the command the remote is sending. I was at a loss for a couple minutes, but then it hit me that our switch is installed right next to the breaker box in our basement. Is it likely that the electricity going into / out of the box is causing the problem that I'm having, or should I be looking for a simpler solution somewhere in the setup of the devices?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions / input.

is the dimmer mounted in a standard inwall electrical box? If its plastic i wonder if you could coat the inside with some kind of materal?

Also what kinda band is that switch on.. wireless router or wireless phone near by causing the issue?
