Default Any Prince (The Artist) fans? Movies/Concerts on BD

One of my favorite musical artists of all time, I'm wondering if he will release anything other than Purple Rain on BD. Sign O The Times was an awesome concert movie and sounded great, that def. should be on BD. Possibly Graffiti Bridge or Under The Cherry Moon later on down the line......

Not sure how much say he'll have over Graffiti Bridge or Under the Cherry Moon (neither of which I've seen, I confess); both those films were produced or co-produced by Warner, and that relationship is pretty sour...

Graffiti Bridge & Under the Cherry Moon at least made it to dvd , but i don't think they sold much at all which means no blu-ray , i would LOVE under the cherry moon , it's among my favorite films ever & the B & W with a nice mater soundtrack would be amazing!
Sign o the times never made it even to dvd , nor did his 1985 concert film ...... Very surprised Prince has not embraced blu-ray yet & released some type of new Audio stuff , or video stuff , he's usually all over technology ...

From interviews I've read, Prince has zero interest in revisiting his earlier work. I assume this is why there haven't been any special editions of his albums and also why he loves to re-work his earlier hits when performing them in concert. I've been a big fan of his since childhood and I continue to be mystified by many of his practices.

Sign O' the Times did receive a Canadian DVD release from Alliance, now out of print; I've heard good things, but I haven't seen or heard it. Probably my favorite album from the man...I'd get Super Bowl XLI on BD just for his halftime show.

That halftime show was great. I've never seen a better half time performance.

(I do have it in HD on a disc but I think there's a cut in one of the songs and there's station identification logo on the screen too. I used to have the last 2 songs recorded in HD from a better source but I lost that.)

I have Purple Rain on BD. Would get any others if they came available.

I should rent the other stuff that at least made it to DVD just to check it out.

I've never bought any of his records but I tend to like his music.

In fact, for those who spent most of the 90's not knowing, that was the reason that Prince went on those "loopy" stunts of changing his name to a glyph, writing "Slave" on his face and becoming The Artist--
Warner's lawyers told him they owned his contract based on his name, which is why he went on gay/pissy stunts to avoid using his name in public.
(Oh, whew, there was a reason after all...Here we'd thought he'd just gone psycho. )

If you are a fan, you should try to find his collaboration with Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, George Harrison's son, and others at the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame induction jam for George Harrison. He is truly AMAZING!!!

Man, his solo for While My Guitar Gently Weeps is one of the best solos I've ever heard. Just phenomenal.

I have no reason to re-watch that Super Bowl, my Bears lost to the man . That being said he better not come out with a BD of that lame ass Vikings song he wrote last week .

All in all Prince is a phenomenal artist and would love to see more of his work on BD.

The Canadian release of Sign O the times is pretty tight. It looks pretty official not like the Brazilian release.

It is awesome, I just received my dvd from Amazon.ca today. Sound quality is on point!! Video is really good except for U Got The Look song. I'll most likely rip the 2-channel audio into a wave format and burn it to a cd so I can jam this in the car.

Yes, it's quite obvious that the "U Got the Look" section, being the only part not recorded live on film as concert footage, was recorded on lower-resolution video. It is rather jarring, but the rest of the movie looks gorgeous (for SD-DVD, that is).
