Default Dell XPS M1330 Internet Explorer not working...

I've a Dell XPS M1330 laptop! Today, I was on steelers.com and I was listen/watching an interview from Art Rooney II and I saw at the top of the video, download the new Steeler toolbar so I click on it and downloaded! I went back to finish the interview, but wanted to surf the Steeler shop, so I click new window, but Internet Explorer closed! I try to reopen IE, but I get this message...

Internet Explorer has stopped working. A problem has cause the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available!

A little help!

Thanks,
Bryan

PS: MODS, I don't know where to put this, so if this is in a wrong section, please more it!

Restart the PC if you can, however can I suggest a better browser?

Try Firefox or Google Chrome, both are Free and work just like IE. I quit using IE after it kept crashing and have used FireFox ever since. Give them a try

Have you tried downloading Chrome as jw also suggested? I used to use IE, then switched to Firefox, and am now on Chrome and it works great...very fast and a simple, non-cluttered interface. If you're interested, try installing that and report back.

http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en/landing.html?hl=en

Also, it sounds a little bizarre that Firefox won't let you use the internet? Do you think you might possibly have a virus? Have you tried doing a scan for viruses and/or spyware?

Start the Task MGR (ctrl+Alt+Delete) and close any programs running associated with IE

Are you using your phone or something now? Can you even open IE without actually going to a website?

edit: jw is on the right track...it sounds like some service and possibly the toolbar might be blocking something or causing IE to crash/function improperly?

When all else fails, do a system restore to the previous day, its will reset any changes you made and should fix your problem.

Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System Restore

(i think )

If you have an available restore point from earlier today or yesterday (the latter is probably better), choose that and let the computer do its thing. Keep in mind it will get rid of any installed programs between now and that time, but all of your documents will still remain.

Glad to see you got the problem resolved. Now disable IE and use Firefox instead! I have the NHL toolbar installed for Firefox and it works like a champ!
