Default Want to demo my new subs...

So I just got my new Polk subs... am waiting until the weekend to hook it all up but then I will need to know some good scenes from movies to stretch their legs, so to speak.

Could you guys give me some ideas. Refer to my collection as I will not be buying anything new for a little while.

Thanks boys... and girls.

Wasn't sure where this thread belonged, if it needs to be moved I apologize.

Go to the end of post #1 in A Guide to Subwoofers thread. There are links to movies with good bass to test subwoofers.

That takes time.... I always trust in the good folks at bd.com to help me out with some suggestions.

I'm not the most savvy computer user I'm afraid.

"Movies with good bass" brings up 11 pages, I don't blame him for asking.

Anyway, Max Payne at the very end after the credits has a brief scene that has a "bass sting" that totally maxes out my current sub, which admittedly is an "economy" sub. There are several scenes in the movie plus several other movies in general that push my current sub to the limit, but that particular scene seems stand out the most.

Default Too Bad you don't have U-571, in your collection!

The depth charge scenes are killer!

Movies with A ton of Bass would be :

TERMINATOR SALVATION
THE REAPING
END OF DAYS
U571

There are others too .

Definitely Terminator Salvation. That movie practically caused my house to collapse. Cloverfield is a great movie to try if you get the chance as well. By the way, out of your collection, nearly half or more are reference movies. Casino Royale, The Dark Knight, and many more are some that you should definitely check out again.

Yea, 180-182 is about all you need to find some good LFE test.

Just realized you don't own Max Payne, oops - sorry 'bout that. From what you have in your collection that I own myself I would recommend The Dark Knight and Iron Man. I remember those pushing the limits of my current sub.

PS: What Polk sub did you buy? I currently have the PSW10. While it is an excellant sub for its price, $199 list - got mine for free, it does show it's limits on newer action films with lossless tracks.
