Difference in Blu-ray Cases - Blu-ray Forum

Does anyone know why some of my cases are different? Some of my discs have the bluray logo on top of the case just printed on, others have it textured into the plastic. The spines on both are different also, one is thicker. Has anyone else realised this, do those distinguish earlier releases vs. the newer ones?

i've only got one which has got blu-ray printed on it Planet Earth the rest is all on plastic don't know the reason cause PE is a recent release whicl the other one's i've got are a bit older

Just different manufacturers or models, I think. There are surprising number of variations, I only have 15 discs and there are at least 4 or 5 distinct cases.

I like Sony and Disney's recent ones (actually I don't know if Disney was different before, but Sony had slightly different cases before), with a slightly tapered edge on the right thumb handle. (Does anyone know what I'm talking about?) Makes me feel less like I'm breaking the plastic every time I open the case.

whats the deal in the difference. why are they not all the same

Why would you think they would all be exactly the same? DVD cases aren't all the same.

the spines are similiar, more or less. basically, they dont look like bizarro world when u stack them next to each other like blus

I was looking at this just yesterday and was wondering if there was any where I could buy the cases with the blu-ray logo etched into the top to replace the screen printed ones in my collection.
