** note: There have been a VERY few instances of dvd's being shipped in place of BD's. 99% of users' orders from this sale have been fine. The problems are mostly due to errant listings in the sale. Note that any disc listed at $4.99 WILL be a dvd, not a blu-ray. **
I figured at over 100 pages and 2000 posts (actually it reached 150+ pages and over 100k views before it got reset) it was time to sort out the info so far. Especially since it would seem this sale may be going on for a while.

• Hollywoodvideo.com and Moviegallery.com (same company/database) is having a sale with all used Blu-Rays for $6.99 and FREE shipping
• Use promo code 25PV for an additional 25% off, making them $5.24+tax
* Code must be entered at screen following shipping/billing addresses. The earlier screen where you enter it is for estimating a total only and does not actually apply it to your order.

• Some do not come up when you select only Blu-Rays in your search. Best way to see the full selection is to include both DVD and Blu-Ray, and sort Price High-to-Low, 100 Items per page.
• Popular titles go out of stock very quickly. Restocks/updates happen with no pattern – random days and times; some minor, some major
* Blu-Rays listed at $4.99 are actually just mis-listed DVD's (based on all received instances so far). Blu-Rays will all be listed at $6.99
• Site often slow and crashing – downtime is only temporary though (they seem unprepared for the sheer volume of orders)

• Digital copies or 3-D glasses are usually NOT included

• Items are NOT on hold while in your cart. If you take too long to check out you could lose high-demand items. Early on when items went out of stock after being added to a cart, they would show up at $0.00 but some still shipped. This appears to have now been fixed so you can't check out with $0.00 items.
• During recent updates, many people have NOT received order confirmations, but orders ARE still processing and shipping

• Larger orders ship via USPS Media Mail. If you break your orders up into smaller orders (1-3 discs) they will ship via USPS First Class and will arrive slightly faster. Orders are shipped with Delivery Confirmation only, so you may not see in-transit updates.
• Some orders are shipping from multiple locations, so they may not all arrive together
• Orders seem to be shipping in random order, so later orders may ship before previous ones
• Discs are coming in Blu-Ray cases (mostly the locking style) with original artwork. A very few (less than 5%) have had reprinted/copied artwork, and a very few (less than 5%) have arrive still shrink-wrapped.
• In a very few rare instances, cases have come empty or with a DVD inside. Check titles upon arrival.

• Customer Service email for problems is help@websales.hlyw.com. Some people have also had luck contacting pamela@goindaba.com, pamela@elistics.com, or jordan@goindaba.com

Whether or not you want to bother updating it is up to you, but just wanted to remind you that if by some miracle things pick up again and new titles show, you're the only one who can add them to the list. I don't know if anyone ever even used it anyway.

They are things that will never be on Blu-ray or wouldn't make much difference if they did. Stuff like Nosferatu, Ministry (band) videos, and obscure J-Horror.

Anyways, I finally received my refund from my first order. I think Hollywood Video does things all at once. They let all the people who wanted to return items accumulate and everyone was sent their mailing labels on the same day. Now, I assume, they are doing the same with the refunds.

Yeah. I was told I would be refunded back on 3/2/2010. I first sent them an email on 2/26, but they never replied. I then sent the same message again on 3/2 and they responded within 30 minutes. Well it's good news that the refunds have begun.

Just tried to pop on the HWV site out of curiosity and its basically crashed. Cannot get on at all. Was there an update I missed, or one may be coming... By the way, the trade thread needs to be put back up. If a mod wants to sponser it, so be it, but putting it together with cinemaphiles own personal thread was not smart and not helpful to people trying to actually trade their movies acquired from the sale. Let's use some common sense next time before we do certain things.

After quickly reviewing my bank statement, it appears as though they have refunded me too much. I'll give it a couple of days before I notify them, since they might fix it on their own. I have one refund of $28.49 and several at $5.85. They actually should only be refunding me for 3 movies that they couldn't ship me because they were no longer in stock. By my calculations, the refund should be $17.09 with tax factored in.

They needed to refund me $10.48, instead they refunded me 5 times for $41.94. Essentially giving me $210. I contacted them after the money was in my account for 3 days. The still have not given me a resolution. That was on 2/19. Good Luck!

Glad to hear refunds are showing up. I return shipped 1 movie, and got an email that a refund was issued. I'll keep watching for a few more days for it to post to my account.

Update:

I have received my replacement blurays for the order of 10 they never shipped from Feb 24th. They only sent me 6 blurays, but I only paid for 4 so I don't care.

So right now I have received 48 blurays from Hollywood Video. Plus 4 DVDs that I ordered (and knew were DVDs). Plus 1 DVD that was marked as Bluray (which they paid return shipping on and refunded me for).

All of which were in pretty much like new condition, aside from 3 coming with printed covers (although they were good enough to fool me on first glance).

The only movies I haven't received are 4 movies I didn't actually pay for... But they might show up still, considering I just got the other 6 from that order today.

Also, I am really expecting an update soon. I only say this because today I received: Deja Vu, Burn After Reading, Crash, The International, Vantage Point, and Wackness... All of which haven't been on the site in 2+ weeks (aside from The International).

i am still waiting on an order from march 9. Emailed them and they said they couldn't find it. I can see it under my account. But they have not emailed me back in a week. I have emailed several times now.
